Here is a simple recipe for steak sirloin. The steak pieces are marinated for about 4 hours and then grilled on the bbq.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Clean, wash and dry sirloin pieces.
- Put the pieces in a ziplock bag and add in the rest of the ingredients (marinade). Close the zip lock bag and give it a nice rub so that the marinade coats the steak pieces. Now put it in the refrigerator for 4 to 5 hours.
- Before grilling, take the steak out of the refrigerator about 10 minutes and leave it on room temperature.
- Heat the bbq. Spray a little PAM on the grills and then place the steak sirloin on the bbq at an angle a little apart from each other. Place it directly so that you get the charred marks on the steak.
- BBQ the steak for about 5 to 6 minutes and then turn them over and cook further for 5 to 6 minutes or so. Lower the temperature of your bbq if required after turning the steak. For a medium cooked steak, a thermometer put inside should show about 145 degrees F. (See Recipe Notes for cooking times).
- After cooking, remove the steak sirloins onto a plate and cover with aluminium foil for about 10 minutes.
- Then cut the steak pieces and serve with sides of your choice.
Notes
Depending on how well done you want the steak to cook, times will vary:
For rare, cook about 6 to 8 minutes (until internal temperature gets 125 degrees F)
For medium rare, cook about 4 minutes each side, total of 7 to 10 minutes (internal temperature of 135 degrees F).
For medium, cook for about 6 minutes each side, total of 10 to 12 minutes (internal temperature of 145 degrees F)
For well done, cook for about 7 minutes each side, total of about 12 to 15 minutes (150 degrees F).
