Barfi is a sweet dish made in the Indian sub continent. It is primarily made with milk and the texture is similar to that of a fudge. Here is a recipe for Barfi using almonds and pistachios.
Ingredients
Instructions
- Dry roast pistachios in a pan for a few minutes, cool and grind it into a coarse powder.
- Grease a steel plate and keep aside.
- In a heavy bottom pan, melt ghee and add ground pistachios and almond flour. Stir well for a few minutes.
- Now add condensed milk and a couple of drops of green food colour. Keep stirring continuously for about 5 minutes on low flame until mixture leaves side of pan. Now add ground cardamoms.
- Spread the contents evenly onto a greased steel plate. Garnish the top with slivered almonds and pistachios. Let cool and then cut into desired shapes. Store in an airtight container. Will last up to a week in refrigerator.
