Lemon Rice is a widely popular rice dish from South India. In the state of Karnataka, it is called Chitranna. It’s the turmeric powder which gives this rice the yellow colour. Traditionally in this recipe, they do not use onions or garlic but I have used onion in my recipe. This is a vegetarian favourite and is often used as a picnic lunch, or in tiffins. We love serving lemon rice with some grilled chicken or meats and is often our go to side to make during summer bbq times 🙂
