Mashed Potatoes With Bacon Bits And Chives

Potatoes are a staple food in most parts of the world. Mashed potatoes is a dish made by mashing boiled potatoes and adding butter/cream, milk, salt and pepper. Ingredients
  • 3 lb. Russet potatoes
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 4 -5 cloves garlic
  • 3/4 cup bacon bits
  • 1/4 cup chives
  • some salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
  1. Peel the potatoes, clean and cut them into 1 inch chunks.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a rapid boil. Put the cleaned potato cubes along with the garlic cloves into the water. Cook on medium heat about 20 minutes until potatoes are soft and tender.
  3. Drain off water from the put and mash potatoes in the same pot with a potato masher. Add some butter and warm milk and mash well.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. Then add some cooked bacon bits and finely chopped chives. Mix again and leave covered with a lid until ready to serve. Serve warm.
