Banana Split Sundae with Nuts and Chocolate

Ingredients
  • 3 Bananas
  • 2 tbsp.butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • a few nuts and chocolate (for garnish)
Instructions
  1. Melt butter in a pan. Then add in the brown sugar for about 3 to 4 minutes.
  2. Now add in the banana (cut into 2 inch rounds). Let the banana pieces brown on one side about 4 minutes. Then gently flip over the pieces and let brown on the other side too about 3 minutes.
  3. Remove the caramelised bananas and let it cool on a plate.
  4. Reserving a few bananas for garnish, fold in the rest of the bananas into the vanilla ice cream with a fork until the caramelised bananas incorporate well into the ice cream.
  5. Store the ice cream in the freezer for at least 5 hours in the freezer.
  6. To assemble the sundae, take a tall serving glass or bowl. Spoon a couple of tbsp. of the caramel sauce into it. Now fill it with a scoop of the banana ice cream. Repeat layer. Then top with some sliced pistachios, slivered almonds or chocolate chips and with the reserved caramelised banana pieces. Enjoy!
