Soya Nuggets Keema

Soya chunks is made from soy bean flour.  It has a meaty texture. It is an excellent alternative for meat dishes and is very high in protein. Kheema is made with ground meat. Ingredients
  • 1 cup soy chunks (nuggets)
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tbsp. ginger garlic paste
  • 1 sprig curry leaves
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup coconut powder
  • 2 inch cinnamon stick
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 tsp. chilli pd.
  • 1/4 tsp. turmeric pd.
  • 1 tsp. coriander pd.
  • 2 tsp. fennel seeds
  • 2 tbsp. oil
Instructions
  1. Boil water in a large pan. When it comes to a boil, add salt and soy nuggets. Switch off heat, cover the pan and let the soya chunks soak for about 30 minutes.
  2. After 30 minutes, drain off water completely and chop the soya into small pieces.
  3. Make a paste of coconut, cinnamon, cloves, fennel, red chilli, turmeric, coriander, adding 1/2 cup water in a blender.
  4. Heat oil in a another pan and brown finely chopped onions. When the onions change colour, add ginger garlic paste and curry leaves. Now add in chopped tomatoes. Fry for about 5 minutes.
  5. Add in the blended paste and fry this for 2 minutes. Now add in the finely chopped soya nuggets and mix well. Let it cook for about 10 to 12 minutes. Stir in between. Serve warm.
