Instant Pot Mutton Keema ( Spiced Minced Mutton Recipe )

This curried minced lamb/mutton is an all time favourite. Here is an easy way to cook keema in the instant pot.

Ingredients
  • 1 kg. minced mutton
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 tomato
  • 3 tbsp. ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 small bunch fresh cilantro
  • 2 tbsp.mint
  • 2 black cardamom
  • 2 star anise
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 5 peppercorns
  • 2 tbsp. chilli pd.
  • 2 tbsp. coriander pd.
  • 1 tbsp. turmeric pd.
  • 2 tsp. salt (or to taste)
  • 1 tbsp. garam masala
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp. oil or ghee (clarified butter)
Instructions
  1. Peel and thinly slice onions.
  2. Heat ghee/oil in the Instant Pot on Saute mode for 40 minutes. Add the whole spices, cardamom, star anise, cloves, cinnamon and peppercorns. Add in the sliced onions and let the onions brown about 5 minutes.
  3. Add salt, turmeric, ginger-garlic paste, mix well and add the minced meat to the pot. Saute well for about 25 minutes or so, stirring well in between.
  4. Now add in finely chopped tomatoes and the ground spices. Mix well. Add in the yogurt.
  5. Switch off saute mode, cover the Instant Pot with lid and set it on Pressure Cook Mode for 30 minutes.
  6. After 30 minutes, switch off and let the pot cool down.
  7. After it cools completely, open the lid, check seasonings and add freshly chopped coriander leaves (cilantro) before serving.
Recipe Notes

This recipe an be made with either minced  chicken or beef as well. Just adjust the spices according to your taste.
